Broadband
What broadband can you actually get, and what does it cost?
ComReg’s checker tells you which networks reach your address. It doesn’t tell you what anything costs. Put your eircode in and we’ll show you both: the networks, and every plan on them with the real price, the speed and the contract length.
Why the price is the missing half
Irish broadband mostly runs on wholesale networks. Open eir and SIRO are open access, so several retailers sell over them; Virgin Media’s cable is its own, so only Virgin sells on it. Which networks reach your door decides who can sell to you, and that is what an availability checker tells you.
What it doesn’t tell you is that the same fibre line costs wildly different amounts depending on which retailer you sign with, or that the price you’re quoted is usually an introductory rate that reverts partway through. We hold every published plan and re-check the rates nightly, so we can show the price beside the availability, and tell you the month the price changes.
