1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Shrewd ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Shrewd is a household bill-checking service. We analyse your utility and service bills (electricity, gas, broadband, mobile, and other household expenses) and provide recommendations on whether switching suppliers could save you money.

We do not sell energy, broadband, mobile services, or any other products. We do not receive commissions or referral fees from any supplier. Our revenue comes solely from fees paid by you.

Our recommendations are based on publicly available tariff information and your household profile. We do not guarantee that switching will result in savings, and actual results may vary based on your usage patterns and supplier terms.

3. Service Tiers

Free Tier: Allows you to check one energy bill per eircode per 12-month period. Free tier users do not receive ongoing monitoring, renewal alerts, or monthly summaries.

Annual Subscription (€20/year launch price; standard price €59/year): Includes a full household audit plus ongoing monitoring: monthly bill re-checks, renewal alerts before contract auto-renewals, and email updates when material changes affect your bills.

4. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee to your payment method.

Annual subscriptions are charged upfront and renew automatically each year on the anniversary of your purchase date, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will email you at least 7 days before any automatic renewal.

5. Refund Policy

Our full refund policy is available at shrewd.ie/legal/refund. Key points:

Annual subscriptions may be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are not available, but you may cancel to prevent future renewals.

6. Your Obligations

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your household and bills. Inaccurate information may result in incorrect recommendations.

• Use the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell our analysis or use it as part of a commercial service.

• Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

• Upload only bills for your own household. Do not upload bills for other people without their permission.

7. Intellectual Property

Not Financial or Legal Advice: The Service provides information and recommendations, not professional financial or legal advice. We are not regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. You should make your own assessment before switching suppliers.

Supplier Changes: Tariffs and terms can change frequently. While we update our data regularly, there may be a lag between a supplier changing their pricing and our systems reflecting that change. Always verify current pricing directly with the supplier before switching.

Service Availability: We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, [Legal Entity Name] and its directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us at support@shrewd.ie. If you cancel an annual subscription, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period, but no refund will be provided for the remaining time (except within the 30-day refund window).

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, provide fraudulent information, or engage in abusive behaviour toward our staff.

11. Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at shrewd.ie/legal/privacy. By using the Service, you consent to such processing.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your account.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
